Adult Social Services
We have set ourselves the challenge of becoming one of the best performing ADULT social services by 2012.
To achieve this, the department is undergoing a major transformation programme. We’ve already introduced technological innovations like our virtual call centre Access Team. Key tasks including assessment, commissioning and procurement will also be modernised and improved. It’s an exciting time to join us, as we focus on personalisation and improving the independence of residents who need support.
At the heart of the programme is the principle that service users are, in the main, the best judges of their needs. That’s why their opinions and feedback are vital in our evaluation of our performance. Where people are unable to make their own choices and express opinions, we are ensuring they receive the same standards of service – while doing everything we can to help them to live to their potential.
