Wandsworth offers competitive salary and benefits packages, which are intended to reward top performers.We pay a market supplement of £1,500 per year to social workers working in the the Children in Need and Referral & Assessment Teams in Children's Services and to some of our specialist social workers in Adult Social Services, subject to meeting certain criteria.
Performance Related Pay
We operate a Performance Related Pay scheme for staff in Children's Services. Currently in Adult Social Services the scheme is applicable to Senior Social Workers at the top of the grade as well as Principal Social Workers and Consultant Practitioners. We pay a lump sum to social workers achieving PQ awards – it’s our intention to revise our qualification and career pathway that links increments to qualifications and performance.
Travel
We can offer interest-free season ticket loans. And, we now provide work debit cards to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
Pension Scheme
We operate the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). Contributions are paid as a percentage of pay and qualify for tax relief.
Flexible working
Our managers have significant discretion to allow flexible working – there are conditions and safeguards in place to ensure it doesn’t affect our quality of service
