The Wandsworth Way is what makes our social work team so different to others.
It isn't a formally agreed set of policies or procedures. It isn't an unwritten list of rules or regulations. It's neither an old fashioned outlook nor a cutting edge methodology.
The Wandsworth Way describes our team's approach to social work - it is a set of shared principles which guide our work.
The Wandsworth Way is to:
- put safe practice at the heart of everything we do
- embrace structure, supervision and oversight
- value the opinions of service users and employees alike
- take pride in our achievements and to learn from our mistakes
- think innovatively and act creatively, but never to follow fads
Some people have a perception that we are set in our ways. We don't see that as a negative. Our ways ensure that service users and employees are supported, encouraged and protected. Who would argue with that?
You can learn more about the Wandsworth Way from our video clips or reading the transcript - or you may have the chance to meet us at an upcoming event.
